Headwaters Inc has been fabricating carbon and alloy piping systems since 2011. Early adaptation of new bending technology and other automated systems have streamlined pipe spool assembly, decreased production time and increased output making Headwaters Inc Pipe Fabrication one of the most trusted privately owned pipe fabricators in the country.
With 5 locations combining 865,000 square feet of covered workspace and around the clock, standardized operations, we offer almost unlimited fabrication capabilities.

We have over half a decade of experience in Civil, Structural, and Mechanical work in the heavy industrial marketplace. Our project experience covers the gamut from grassroots construction to demolition and has won awards for planning expertise, execution excellence and safety.

Our state-of-the-art climate, controlled facilities are equipped with recoverable grit blast booths and are capable of painting single and multiple coat systems regardless of weather conditions. Enclosed climate controlled blast and coating facilities allow us to maintain production, quality and scheduled delivery of pipe spools to the field. In addition to painting pipe spools, our facility can quickly blast and paint straight run pipe for field run rack piping, valves, loose fittings and structural components.

Both our Louisiana and Texas operations are capable of fusion bond epoxy coating for gas transmission and products pipeline applications and metalizing for a variety of applications, including a solution to corrosion under insulation.

The electrical and instrumentation division was organized in 2010 to provide quality electrical and instrument services to our clients and also to complement Headwaters’ contract maintenance and industrial construction activities.

To ensure our high standards are met, we implement a “Merit Shop” mentality – rewarding employees based on performance while encouraging them to reach their highest level of achievement, and awarding outside contracts based on safety, quality and value.

Our objective is to provide the best-qualified electricians, instrument fitters, and technicians for any specific project. Our personnel are qualified in all areas of construction and maintenance and are equipped with modern, cost effective tools and equipment to insure timely project completions.

Formed in 2011 in response to the growing need for nondestructive evaluation and inspection services, Headwaters’ NDE group is a leader in providing high quality inspection and testing services along the Gulf Coast and throughout the continental United States. Our expertise includes personnel and equipment to perform inspections on all types of petrochemical, refining, pulp/paper and power plant equipment. The staff includes more than 10 full time engineers, technicians and certified inspectors, trained in various disciplines with certifications from the American Society of Nondestructive Testing (ASNT), American Petroleum Institute (API) and American Welding Society (AWS).

Headwaters, Inc. offers a wide variety of inspection solutions, including fully equipped personnel for short term or long term assignments, turnarounds, or “personnel only” to augment plant inspection departments. All personnel are continually upgrading their qualifications through training provided by Headwaters or outside agencies.

As the demand for skilled craftsmen continues to increase, more owners are looking for options to reduce the scope of work on their project sites. Modular process units and pipe racks has become a solution to this challenge. With facilities in Texas, Louisiana and Alabama, Headwaters Inc. continues to expand its capabilities to meet growing client demand for modular fabrication. Benefits of modular fabrication include:

Cost Reductions
  • Higher productivity in a controlled environment.
  • Horizontal assembly reduces work hours.
  • Shop rates are lower than field rates.
  • Shorter schedule means early production and profits for owner.
  • Reduced need for infrastructure and personnel support.
  • Reduced risk of craft labor shortages.
Facilities Capabilities

Our five locations from Corpus Christi, Texas to Decatur, Alabama comprise nearly a million square feet of fabrication, clean room, climate controlled painting space and laydown yards. Capabilities include:

  • ASME B31.1 & B3l.3 Power/Process Piping
  • Pipe and Pipe Support Fabrication
  • ASME Section VIII Div I Pressure Vessels
  • Structural Fabrication
  • Industrial Insulation
  • Equipment Setting/Installation
  • Civil Services
  • Complete Fabrication of Equipment Skids & Modules
  • Duct Work
  • Fabricated Carbon Steel and Special Alloy Materials
  • Clean Room Fabrication
  • Process design reviews and revisions can be made more frequently and efficiently in the shop environment.
  • Ability to maintain higher degree of quality control in a shop and module fabrication facility.
  • System testing performed in facility prior to shipment means quicker startups.
  • Maintenance and operability studies can be conducted prior to module installation at plant site.
  • Risk exposure is reduced in a module fabrication facility and at the jobsite due to the relocation of work hours.
  • Reduced traffic, site congestion and craft interference.
  • Assembly can be performed more safely at floor level inside shop.
  • Onsite OSHA exposure hours are greatly reduced – almost 3 to 1.
  • Offsite fabrication expedites process by eliminating permit delays.
  • Fabrication can be performed simultaneous with site work.
  • Reduced crane durations and jobsite waiting time.
  • Easier implementation of multiple work shifts
  • Reduced absenteeism and turnover occurs at a module fabrication facility.
  • Weather and other work stoppage delays are reduced for work done in a modular fabrication facility or shop.
  • Shorter startup due to shop system testing.
  • Increased accessibility and less congestion in a module yard environment.
